Chairman Kyung-Jae Lee is a prominent figure not only in the industry but the Korean Society as a whole. He entered the Bank of Korea in 1961.
From 1976 until 1979 he was with Swiss Basel as a sojourning employee. From 1989 until 1992 he was the General Manager of Offices and Branches.
In 1992 and 1993 he served as the Deputy Governor at the Bank Supervisory Committee.
He was elevated to the eminent position of the Director of the Bank of Korea in 1993 and held it until 1997.
He moved on to become CEO of the Korea Financial telecommunications and Clearing Institute in 1997 where he served two years before being appointed the CEO of the Industrial Bank of Korea in 1998.
Chairman Lee shared his vast knowledge with the younger generation as a Visiting Professor at Dongyang University (2001-2008). His chairmanship at KB Financial Group Inc. started in March 2010.
Chairman Lee received his B.A. in Economics at Seoul National University and his M.A. in Economics at New York University in 1993. He got his Ph.D. in Economic from Kookmin University in 1998.
Director Bae, Jae-Wook graduated from Kyungnam Highschool in 1964. He majored Law at the prestigious Seoul National University and furthered his knowledge in the profession at Michigan University, graduating in 1982.
He began his career in law as a Prosecutor of Daegu District Prosecutors’ Office at 1975 and since than served in various District Prosecutors Offices including Gyeongju, Seoul Central and Ulsan.
He went on to become the Chief Prosecutor of Geochang Branch of Changwon District Prosecutors’ Office. From 1988 he was with the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
From 1993 until February 1998, Director Bae filled the important position of the Secretary for Audit and Inspection in the Office of the President, Cheongwadae. He currently practices Law in his law firm.
His distinguished career won his several awards and recognitions including two Presidential Citations and the Hwangjogeunjeong Medal of Honor.
Director Young-Jin Kim is a professor of finance at the College of Business Administration, Seoul National University since 1982. From August 1978 to August 1982, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Finance, Bowling Green State University.
He was the President of Korea Finance Association for year 2000 and served
as a director for Korea Stock Exchange (May 2000-May 2003), Samsung Asset Management
(June 2000-February 2007), KTF Corp (March 2005-May 2009) and Cheil Industries
(March 2007 to Present).
He received his B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University,
M.B.A from Columbia University, and D.B.A in Finance from the Graduate School
of Business, Indiana University.
Director Jong-Cheon Lee began his career at Sejong University as an Instructor in 1980. He went on to become a professor of Accounting at Soongsil University where he still holds his position.
He served on various government advisory committees such as the Ministry of Finance and Economy (1993-1997) and the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development (1999-2000).
He was also the Vice President for Financial Affairs at Soongsil University (1997-1998) and the Vice President for Administration (2002-2003).
In addition, he was a non-executive board member at Korea Gas Corporation (1997-1998).
His diverse experience called him to chairmanship at the Management Accounting Association of Korea (2003-2004).
He also worked with financial regulators as a member of the review committee of Korean Accounting Standards (2004-2007).
His vast knowledge in Accounting led him to become the Editor of Korea Accounting Association (2006-2007) and during the same period, he was appointed as the Dean of College of Business and Economics at Soongsil University.
From 2008 until today, he is Auditor for the Korean Association of Business Education Accreditation and is the current Chair of the Korea Accounting Association (2011-2012).
Director Lee received his B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University in 1976 and his M.A. in 1980.
He received his Ph.D. in Management Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1988.
Director Sang-Moon Hahm has been a professor of economics at KDI School of Public Policy and Management since January 1998.
From October 2007 to December 2010, he also served as the Dean of KDI School. During the same time, he was appointed as the First Secretary to the OECD-Korea Policy Center.
Currently, he serves as a member of the Foreign Exchange and International Finance Advisory Committee for the Bank of Korea.
He also sits on the Advisory Committee for Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF). Prior to joining KDI School, Director Hahm worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Finance (1993-1997).
He has taught macroeconomic theory, international finance, and financial risk management at undergraduate and graduate levels at several institutions including, University of Western Ontario, Canada (1992-1993),
Virginia Tech (1984-1992), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1989-1990), and University of Texas at Dallas (1983-1984).
He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics at the University of Chicago focusing on equilibrium business cycle theory.
Director Seung-Hee Koh has been with the Sookmyung Women’s University as a Professor of Accounting since 1995.
Prior to his current position he was the Assistant Professor of Accounting at Chungbuk National University and served as an administrative official at the Economic Planning Board of Korea from 1978 to 1985.
From 2009 to the present day he is the Advisor of Competitive Market Policy for the Fair Trade Commission of Korea. He was also a Non-Executive Director for United Asset Management Company Korea from 2009 to 2010.
He was appointed the Chairman of Financial Accounting Committee for the term starting in 2008 and ending in 2009.
His experience in accounting led him to become a member of CPA Exam Committee at the Financial Supervisory Service in Korea.
He got his B.A. in Business Administration from Seoul National University in 1978 and his M.B.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1986. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma, Norman in 1992.
Director Koh has been an Honorary Citizen of Oklahoma since 1989.
Director Young-Nam Lee is a successful business woman who started her company Seo Hyun Electronics Co. Ltd. in August 1988.
She joined the Korea Venture Business Women’s Association as an executive member of the board in April 1998 and is inaugurated the president of the association in February 2001.
She was awarded the Presidential Honor as a Model Entrepreneur (July 1009) and received the 5 Million Dollars Tower Award for export on November 2000.
She served as the Expert Advisor to the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development in May 2003 and served as an independent director of the National IT Industry Promotion Industry in March 2009.
She also became the member of the Korea Business Association in March 2009. She joined as a member of the KB Financial Group BOD on May 2010.
She graduated from the Dong Busan University in 1981 and also studied at the Graduate School of Management at Ajou University. She completed her Business Administration Course at KAIST.
Director Cho, Jae-Mok started his career at Keimyung University in 1990. He assumed the role of a Research Advisor for the Seoul City Government in 2003.
He was appointed the Vice Chair for the Korean Association for Advertising and Public Relations in 2009. In the same year he was recruited as an Adjunct Professor by the Graduate School of Journalism at Hanyang University.
He was appointed the CEO of ACE Research Center in 2003 and serves as KB Financial Groups Board of Directors as a non-executive member since March 2009.
He received his B.A. in Psychology from Keimyung University in 1988 and his M.A. from the same University in 1990. He received his Ph.d from Keimyung University in 2006.
